The project will work with Spanish-speaking pregnant and parenting young women in Corona and Astoria, Queens. Target program participants will come from our Therese Cervini Head Start Center, Queens North Community Center, local churches/parishes, and local Hispanic community social centers. The program will provide parent education and crisis counseling.

The Community of Caring program will provide intensive outreach and assessment, counseling and support, and or mentoring to pregnant/parenting women. Children witnessing a domestic violence will receive supportive counseling.

Regina Maternity Services
The Regina Mentoring Services supports stable living for previously homeless and at risk pregnant and parenting young women and provides parenting education by connecting young pregnant and parenting women with mentors from the community who encourage their development as workers and parents. The Baby & Me - Tobacco Free Program is an evidenced-based prenatal/postpartum cessation program which helps pregnant women quit smoking and stay quit 6 months postpartum. By reducing the rate of prenatal smoking, the program has successfully decreased the number of premature births and increased the number of babies born healthy weight.
