SPRING APPEAL 2021
Paying tribute to Joy Griffith
The MECF family was saddened to lose one of its own in 2020 – Joy Griffith, long-time Executive Director of the organization. Joy was an inspiration to all who knew her. Her radiant smile, her ability to “get things done,” her compassion for those less fortunate in life made all of us want to do better. Her legacy of strong leadership and finding “joy” in helping moms and families in need is a legacy we invite you to be part of. We hope you will join us in honoring Joy in your giving.
The Maternity and Early Childhood Foundation provides leadership, education, and resources to community-based agencies in New York State that support new and expectant parents from pregnancy through early childhood.
Now more than ever, your generosity is needed as the lingering and traumatic effects of COVID-19 continue to burden our grantee programs and the families they serve. The pandemic has amplified the already existing disparities and inequities, shining its harsh light on needs that have been unanswered for far too long Giving the gift of hope and much needed resources is one of the most meaningful gifts you can offer.
All babies deserve a healthy, nurturing start. When New York families are thriving, New York communities are stronger. Your support will have a lasting impact on the health of New York’s children and future. We thank you for your generosity.
Show Your Generosity, Give Now
I never thought that having a baby would teach me so much and the people I met along the way would change me so much!
When it comes to us first time teen parents, we have a lot to learn about being a parent. There are some people that need help but are afraid to ask.
Sometimes you don’t know you need support until you are feeling alone. It helps to have someone to talk to and be there.
Supporting expectant and new parents will last a lifetime.
